NZ Registered Architect practicing
Mt Eden, Auckland
Crafted Studio + ĀKAU

In May 2013 I established my Architecture practice, Crafted Studio, focusing on residential and small commercial projects. In 2014 I was awarded the NZ House & Garden Interior of the year award, Kitchen and Supreme winner, for the kitchen in my own home. In 2014 I also became a co-founder of ĀKAU, a social enterprise that empowers youth by engaging them in the design of real projects and products. We collaborate with youth designers on our programme to develop innovative solutions for our clients. The major project we are currently working on is the re-development of Miria Marae in Northland. I have ten years experience in professional practice and I am a Registered Architect in New Zealand and Victoria, Australia. I hold an undergraduate degree from the University of Auckland and Masters degree in Architecture from RMIT University in Melbourne. My design thesis focused on issues of housing affordability and increasing densities in our cities, two things that are of key concern in Auckland today. I have spent most of the last decade travelling the world and have lived and worked in both London and Melbourne during that time. I returned to New Zealand two years ago and began my new roles as sole practitioner and social entrepreneur.
