Thyra Nelson

NZ Registered Architect (voluntary suspension)

Thyra has worked and studied in Auckland, Sydney and London with a variety of architectural practices. She has been involved in commercial fitouts, education, art and community building developments, in all cases taking a strong interest in the environmental impact of the design and its context. She has also maintained an interest in heritage conservation research and design, most notably through adaptive re-use. After 15 years practicing as an architect she decided to take time out with her family and has just returned from a year in Spain, spent sketching, reflecting and observing, enjoying walks and runs on exceptional terrain interspersed with cafes and monuments in bright colourful light.
