Two A+W NZ Speed Mentoring 2022 EventsBack
Architecture + Women NZ in collaboration with Architectus hosted two Speed Mentoring evenings in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland and Ōtautahi Christchurch on Thursday 13th October, and Thursday 27th October.
The Auckland event took place in Architectus’ Shortland street studios and hosted 70+ attendees from across the industry. Guests were greeted with drinks and nibbles on arrival and the event kicked off at 5:30pm with a Mihi by Kitty Fan and welcomes by Anner Chong, A+W Co-chair.
The Christchurch event was hosted in Architectus’s Oxford Terrace studios, attended by 36 invited mentors and mentees. Architectus Principal Jane Rooney welcomed guests with a Mihi and Maria Chen of Athfields Architects opened the event as A+W Co-chair.
It was two fantastic evenings filled with discussion about architecture and careers. We had a diverse range of mentors that included Architects, interior designers, landscape architects, urban designers, heritage architects, planners, project managers, architectural photographers, and academics.
The speed-dating format asked mentors and mentees to sit down and commence quick-fire rounds of conversation in 5 minute successions. After about an hour of this structured format, the floor was opened for guests to mix and weave connections in an organic and spontaneous way.
We are grateful to all our mentors who gave their time and experience so generously. We also want to thank all the mentees for taking the time, purchasing the tickets to support A+W NZ and making it a wonderful and exciting evening.
