Drawn out of the success of 2020’s Lockdown Mentoring Meetings, Casual Conversations intends to provide a network of collegial support within the A+W NZ membership, and our extended community. With topics defined by the participants, these informal meetings are held on an ad hoc basis, as and when the need or topic for discussion arises, and are often held online. From mentorship to professional conundrums, opportunities and career options, these are insightful conversations that aim to help navigate and explore a broader context of the state of our profession.
This time we are joined by Kimberly Browne, Registered Architect and Associate Principal at Jasmax, NZRAB Registration Assessor and a member of the NZRAB Governance Board.
What is assessed in the professional conversation? Is it easier to fly to Australia and get registered? Will I have a female assessor for my conversation? I can’t register via Pathway 1… what are my options? How long does it take to find out if I was successful in meeting the minimum standard for registration? Is there any data on the impact of becoming registered and how this impacts a career — especially for women — in terms of earnings, promotion and at times, returning to work?
Kimberly will join the A+W NZ team in conversation to answer these questions — and more! — in a positive and informative session that we hope will allow our members to feel more prepared as they embark on the process of initial registration.
Casual Conversations are free to attend and no booking is required, just join us online via Zoom.
