A+W NZ Mentoring

About A+W NZ Mentoring

We believe that mentoring assists with finding a rewarding pathway through your life in architecture. Mentoring is also elusive, and it is often difficult to establish a meaningful mentoring relationship when things become formalised. A+W NZ want to help with supporting 'informal' connections through this online platform, a Mentoring Page dedicated to identifying those looking to help and/or connect.

We also believe that a person can be both a Mentor and Mentee simultaneously, and this page allows for members to be listed in both columns. For example, a newly-registered architect heading into their second decade of their working life may need professional and life guidance in this time of increased invisibility. At the same time, this same architect may be a relevant and valuable mentor for a more recent graduate.

The A+W NZ Mentoring Programme operates in two ways;

1.) Online Mentoring connections: You can update your Mentoring Profile on your Database Profile Page now and make connections. Keep checking the Mentoring page profiles (organised into regions) to see if there is a Mentee/Mentor you would like to contact - click on their email and start a discussion. (A+W NZ do not intervene in these mentoring relationships unless requested - we provide the platform for the connections to be made.) Please add your feedback to the page to help others navigate their mentoring experiences.
2.) A+W NZ Speed Mentoring Events:
A+W NZ hold mentoring-focussed events throughout the country at various times, and you can keep up to date here. These were initiated by an energetic team of graduates in 2015, with the aim of an annual 'speed-dating' style event held (on average) since. These face-paced, highly valuable and fun events have become highly anticipated, and book out very quickly. (Check out the Speed Mentoring page for info on each event). The A+W NZ Speed Mentoring Events are sponsored by Architectus.

A big thank you to Resene for their ongoing support of our wider Mentoring programme, and to Architectus for their ongoing sponsorship for our Speed-Mentoring events.
