Join us on Wednesday 8 September 2021, 6.00 – 7.00pm for a session that will unpack some of the challenges many of us might be facing and provide some strategies that can help us work through, and beyond, our current modus operandi.
Drawn out of the success of 2020’s Lockdown Mentoring Meetings, Casual Conversations intends to provide a network of collegial support within the A+W NZ membership, and our extended community. With topics defined by the participants, these informal meetings are held on an ad hoc basis, as and when the need or topic for discussion arises, and are often held online. From mentorship to professional conundrums, opportunities and career options, these are insightful conversations that aim to help navigate and explore a broader context of the state of our profession.
We were recently reminded that we are not 'working from home'; we are at home, trying to work during a global pandemic.
Is there a framework for this new way of working? Are there issues with work-related wellbeing in architecture? How do you lead a team in lockdown? How much contact is too much contact? How can we support our emotional wellness during these times? Do you have any WFH life hacks?
We’ll be joined by Brenda James, a leadership and career development specialist who has been working with the architecture profession for over a decade. Brenda also brings a passion for mental wellbeing and during the session there will be the opportunity to learn new skills, be reminded of simple but effective techniques, and to ask questions that will assist with self-care, awareness, leadership and communication skills, and working towards a more positive work life balance.
Casual Conversations are free to attend and no booking is required, just join us online via Zoom.
