Silo Gallery 6 & Silo Park Site, Wynyard Quarter
The A+W•NZ: Between Silos Exhibition was held in Auckland on 20-29 September, 2013. The exhibition was one of four exhibitions held nationally - the others were in Wellington, Christchurch and Queenstown, and were part of wider celebrations of the 120th anniversary of Suffrage in New Zealand.
The information booklet, or 'map' of the exhibition at the wonderful Silo 6 Gallery and Silo Park site at Wynyard Quarter on Auckland's Waterfront is shown below. It was designed by Chia-Lin Sara Lee and Lucas K Doolan of Mill Space, who have also designed the early and main posters for A+W•NZ. You can download a pdf of this A2 information map document here.
The Between Silos exhibition included work from almost 500 contributors, presented as both the national exhibition and local works.
Large Scale works were selected by the curator, Ariane Craig-Smith, via an early submission process, and each space in the Silos was treated with a separate theme. The work from all contributors were shown digitally on two screens, as well as 100 large-format prints presented as wallpaper in one of the tall cylindrical silo spaces. You can view more images from the exhibition here. (Images by Amarbir Singh of Mango Films Ltd).
