We look forward to a fantastic year with renewed energy and ideas and welcome the new team.
We had a great time celebrating the hard work, energy and dedication that Elisapeta and Nicole brought to A+W NZ.
A big thank you to Nicole, who was A+W NZ Treasurer 2015-2017;
Words that spring to mind when reflecting on Nicole's contribution to the team are attention to detail, honesty, clarity and intelligence, as well as just being great company!
We have a huge gratitude for her work, especially for navigating the
demands of the 2017 A+W NZ Dulux Awards event. Nicole's calmness,
patience and forward-thinking brought us through a sometimes-stressful
awards event. This is one of many events that Nicole's even hand has
guided us through in her time as Treasurer.
Nicole established a clearer structure to Finances and Sponsorship as
we have grown in membership, core team size and the wide array of
events, research and policy that we put our energy into. We thank Nicole
for her service, A+W NZ have benefitted greatly.

A big thank you to Elisapeta, A+W NZ Core Team member since 2012, A+W NZ Co-Chair 2017, and A+W NZ Secretary 2016;
Elisapeta joined A+W NZ in 2012 and took on with strength and gusto the full force of contributing to the massive Between Silos Exhibition organisation.
The whirlwind that was 2013 only subsided for a short time before the momentum built again, and we held the inaugural A+W NZ Awards
in 2014. Elisapeta was part of the awards establishment team,
contributing to the fine-tuning of the philosophy behind these awards,
and they are stronger for it now. Her focus on bringing a Māori
worldview together with our architectural and gendered lives has meant
that A+W NZ has grown richer and has benefitted from her leadership. We
proudly know that we have been ‘leading the way’ in bringing these
worlds together, hopefully, normalising architecture as the bicultural
practice we believe it should be, and taking the first steps towards our
obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
The time is right for Elisapeta to leave A+W NZ, as her energy is now
being given to Ngā Aho and the NZIA. We are going to miss her
competence, her intelligence, her leadership, her laugh and her
beautiful waiata.
