A+W NZ x Blum Christchurch

Following on from the success of the A+W 'Kitchen Talk' at Blum's showroom in Tāmaki Makaurau in April we will be holding an event at Blum's showroom in Ōtautahi Christchurch on 27th July.

A+W Co-chair Gina Hochstein will travel to Ōtautahi to deliver her well-received talk about the history of the kitchen. The talk will focus on the kitchen as a source of connection, nourishment and tradition to whanau, friends and community. It will also explore the evolution of the kitchen over the last 100 years and how the kitchen has become a space of democratisation.

Gina Hochstein comes with practice-based and academic publication experience. She is a Lecturer at Unitec Te Pūkenga, whilst finishing her PhD by creative practice at the University of Auckland. Her PhD by creative practice combines research and written scholarship with a creative project output investigating the complex intersection of craft practices and architecture that results in items of adornment on the female form for an exhibition. She is co-chair of Architecture + Women New Zealand and advocates for agency and equity for women in the architectural realm.
