SPEED MENTORING NIGHT AT ARCHITECTUS

Speed Mentoring Night at Architectus Tuesday, 18 Sept 2018

Come along to chat with people working in architecture who you may never cross paths with. This event is the opposite of a formal mentor/mentee type of function - it is fast and loose, with an organic and casual approach to forming mentor relationships.

Tuesday 18th September 2018 — Tuesday 18th September 2018

5:00 pm — 7:30 pm

Architectus, Level 2, 3-13 Shortland Street, Auckland

$15.00

It is important to remember that many people can in fact be in both roles as mentor and mentee. For example, someone who has been working in practice for 5-10 years may be a more appropriate mentor to a graduate than a more experienced architect, however they may also be looking for a mentor.

In 2015, A+W NZ held several 'mentoring-promoting' events, as a way to encourage connections across age-groups, experience levels and practice types. Rather than having a formal mentoring structure, Speed Mentoring Ak 02 (Auckland, September 2015), The Fast & The Curious (Wellington, October 2015), and Date Night (Auckland, June 2015) were informal 'forced conversation' evenings, based on the 'Speed-Dating' format more typical to finding romance.

And to make finding a Mentor/Mentee easier, during the Auckland event our Mentoring Page on the A+W NZ website will be launched by Anner Chong. A BIG thank you to our very supportive web designer Tim Dawson from Ghost St, and to Resene for the ongoing sponsorship of our Mentoring Page.
