Date Night — Mentoring with Speed

Auckland's first Date Night mentoring event was an excellent evening - maintaining an informal atmosphere conducive to great conversation as well as keeping to a 'speed-dating' structure which enabled the entire room of 50 to move seats and engage in more conversations than at a typical function. The lively and informative conversations were supplemented by delicious coffee and food by Little and Friday, and were punctuated with several spot prizes of movie tickets. It was held on 24 June 2015, 7pm, at the Little & Friday Cafe in Newmarket.

Feedback to date tells us that such opportunities to meet and have short-but-meaningful conversations with those working in architecture that you may never otherwise meet is much appreciated. The event was sold out well before the night, so Auckland's next event is already under way for September 26th, as part of the NZIA Architecture Week. As demand is high, the venue will be larger to cater for more than the 50 who attended last week's fantastic event. And remember, this need not be restricted to females only - male graduates may benefit from female mentors and vice-versa.
