I am currently employed as a Senior Lecturer teaching postgraduate students in the School of Art and Design. My post-doctoral research seeks out and moulds contours between architecture and other disciplines: including architecture and interior design, architecture and literature (in particular forms of literary constraint), architecture and still life, architecture and gastronomy, and the adaptive reuse of interior architecture in sub-optimal conditions. More recently, I have investigated how rationing methodologies can guide the development of evocative design propositions at postgraduate level.
In 1994, I established Rachel Carley Ceramics. My designs are supplied to a number of retailers within New Zealand.
