Madeline is a highly skilled architect, urban designer and masterplanner. A Senior Architect within Jasmax’s Residential studio, Madeline has over 15 years’ experience working across urban regeneration and residential projects. With a particular interest in alternative development models, she is driven by the opportunity to strengthen communities.
Madeline has experience in feasibility through to delivery within the housing sector, focusing within the last 10 years on affordable housing outcomes for New Zealand. She has a keen understanding for stakeholder engagement in order to deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
Madeline is a self-proclaimed urbanist who can manage large-scale projects and see them through an urban design lens. Many of her projects extend far beyond the built form of housing, to mixed-use town centres and neighbourhood plans. Madeline also has local and international experience in strategy for masterplanning for tourism and hotel design.
Experienced working closely with iwi, hapu and mana whenua on masterplanning and papakāinga projects, Madeline is a member the Waka Māia Kaiawhina collective, where she holds a leadership role on the guidance and pursuit of Jasmax’s bicultural design manifesto.
Madeline honed her skills on long-term urban design projects with Auckland Housing Programme at Hobsonville Point and in Tamaki in Auckland, as well as on delivering large urban projects in China, Dubai and Canada. With a keen understanding of the regulatory and planning frameworks governing such projects, Madeline consistently proves that proposals support the desired density, while simultaneously enabling projects to stay true to good design principles.
As a result of her extensive experience designing numerous homes at Hobsonville Point over eight years, Madeline is now a member of the Hobsonville Point Design Review Panel.
