As a male I know I am in a position of power in this world and don't adhere to the A+W.NZ rule of identifying as female for membership. However as a queer architectural graduate, and having worked on a queer and feminist thesis, and with many fabulous female friends involved with A+W.NZ, I identify with this organisation and its values. Blurring Binaries: A Queer Approach to Architecture
My Masters thesis project used queering as a process and as an action to design spaces and spatial experience to challenge normative assumptions in architecture. The thesis proposed a queer approach to design, questioning and blurring architectural binaries.
