14 Jan 2025Alex McLeod: Co-Founder of at.space Joins Judging Panel for the Dulux Colour Awards 2025
The 39th Dulux Colour Awards are set to dazzle once again, with entries now open, celebrating the most innovative and inspiring projects across New Zealand and Australia. The prestigious awards celebrate exceptional and creative use of colour in design across a diverse range of interior and exterior spaces, including residential, public, and commercial environments.
Five of New Zealand and Australia’s most talented architects and designers, who have been recognised and awarded for their own work, will judge the 2025 awards, with New Zealand’s own Alex McLeod, co-founder of the acclaimed Auckland-based interior design studio, at.space, joining the judging panel.
With an impressive career that spans architectural expertise and interior design experience across the UK, Sweden, and New Zealand, McLeod is widely recognised for her bold use of colour and textured, layered interiors. Her studio, at.space, has garnered accolades including two Gold Pins at the NZ Best Awards and the Supreme HOME Interior of the Year Award for 2024, further cementing their place at the forefront of New Zealand design.
Drawing inspiration from nostalgic design, abstract art, and the power of bold colour, McLeod creates spaces that evoke deep emotional connections through memory and context. Her philosophy embodies the spirit of the Dulux Colour Awards, saying that she is “always drawn to how the dramatic or subtle use of colour can shape the success of a project”.
On being part of this year’s judging panel, Alex McLeod says that the Dulux Colour Awards provide an exciting opportunity to witness the creative and inspiring ways that colour is considered in each project
to create impact and connection.
“I am thrilled to be judging the 2025 Dulux Colour Awards alongside an esteemed panel of practitioners, together reviewing some of the most innovative and exciting projects across New Zealand and Australia.”
The Dulux Colour Awards 2025 will feature categories spanning commercial, residential, and public spaces, with entries judged on their innovation, creativity, and execution of colour. As a member of the judging panel, McLeod will bring her unique perspective, informed by her studio’s ethos of creating “spaces with character and depth.”
The awards ceremony promises to be a highlight of the design calendar, uniting industry leaders to celebrate the extraordinary ways colour shapes our built environments. Entries for the Dulux Colour Awards 2025 close Friday, 21 February 2025.
