11 Nov 2012Mark Taylor, at the time of writing head of interior design at the School of Architecture, Victoria University, writes about the practice of Burry & Burry Architects, which was in operation 1993-2001. Focus is on a small alteration project at Paekakariki School, which is discussed in terms of how projects are left out of the publication/canon relationship and how child-rearing and practice were combined.
Mark Taylor is now Professor of Architecture at the University of Newcastle, Australia.
Jane Burry is now a Research Fellow at the Spatial Information Architecture Laboratory (SIAL), School of Architecture and Design, RMIT University and Professor Mark Burry is Director at SIAL. They have co-authored The New Mathematics of Architecture (London: Thames & Hudson, 2010).
