Women are not always associated with 'skyscrapers', but have been working on megastructures for decades - with probably the most well-known in the western world being Natalie Griffin de Blois, partner of Skidmore Owings and Merrill (1944-74).

In Auckland we have several tall structures currently under construction, one of them being 'The Pacifica' at 10 Commerce St. The architects are Plus Architecture, an integrated architecture and interior design practice founded in 1997 with offices in Auckland, Brisbane, Christchurch, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney and the Gold Coast.

We thought you would like to meet some of the female leadership team behind The Pacifica. This team 'gender imbalance' occurred by coincidence, not by design, but it helps to put aside persistent stereotypes about who builds cities.
