Montreal Street Cottage, Christchurch
In a city ravaged by earthquakes, many of Christchurch’s quaint, turn of last century, inner-city workers cottages have succumbed to demolition for modern townhouse developments.
The owners wished to enhance the historical row of 2-room 1870s workers cottages to celebrate Christchurch’s early history and the cottage underwent a complete renovation, from footings to chimneypot!

With a new lift providing stage access, universal and accessible bathrooms catering for the physically disabled, and visual awareness aids for those visually-impaired, everyone has the ability to enjoy this revitalised space.
