The A+W•NZ Black Friday Breakfast was held on 13 February 2015 at 7am. You can view photos of the event here.
To cap off an inspiring NZIA In:situ Conference week, A+W•NZ held a Black Friday Breakfast at Soul in the Viaduct. What a perfect way to start the day before many rushed off for the conference site tours - guests were welcomed with a glass of bubbly and treated to amazing food and service from the Soul staff. Over 70 people turned up to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, providing a good way to continue the conversations started during the excellent and substantial conference week, especially with conference speakers Sarah Whiting and Ana Velez who were at the breakfast. The general theme of the morning was mentoring, with the conversation kick-started by an inspiring Amanda Stanes. Amanda is Director of Advancement at Auckland Grammar School, and previously from the Business School at the University of Auckland. (She is also from an architectural family, being the mother of a current student and the daughter of John Sutherland.) Amanda talked of the importance of relationships in developing healthy and rewarding careers, and stressed the importance of helping young graduates connect with potential mentors. A+W•NZ intend to continue this discussion throughout 2015 and will be hosting more mentoring events soon. A big thank you to Warren and Mahoney, who generously supported the event. Very much appreciated.
A+W•NZ are offering a supporting event to the wonderful goings-on of the NZIA In:Situ conference. Squeezed between the end of the conference and the Waiheke and CBD Tours, the A+W•NZ Black Friday Breakfast allows for the informal conversations to keep flowing. Come and meet some of the female conference speakers over a delicious breakfast and a glass of bubbles. Timed so that you will not miss the Waiheke Ferry or the start of the walking CBD Tour on Friday 13 February. Generously sponsored by Warren & Mahoney Architects
